Okay that hood reminds me of something I'd see on a new Trans Am, with Ram Air. And it actually functional. For some reason i highly doubt this is functional. To me it also looks like its carbon fiber, but I'm probably wrong.

Now, except for the hood, this Civic is OK in my opinion. Not great, but OK.

That scoop catches so much air, it might come off.

Built well, and I'm not like you guys (I think the scoop is functional), but what is the point of those red twist-ties glued to the hood?

it is carbon fiber, i do believe, and with that said i tis more than likely that the hood pins ARE needed seeing as how (most) CF hoods don't come pre-drilled or have spots for bolts. So it MIGHT need some kind of support to hold the hood down dontcha think...some come with a latch some don't....

probably not functional, the airbox on one of those is in the bottom left corner of the engine bay.

Now just wondering, do ricers use boot pins. I have been noticing them on racecars the last few weeks, Im just wondering if they are that stupid.

regarding hoodpins, belive it or not they are a requirement for most aftermarket ricer hoods. Im not sure why but the manufacturers dont make them able to work with the stock latch. Recently ive been doing a website for a company that deals with 'import' parts and most of their aftermarket hood suppliers state that hoodpins are required for the hood not just a add-on, not that that makes them cool.

Never seen one. seen some musclecars with the half twist screw thingies for a fiberglas boot lid, though.

#13, don't think they'd need them.

a trunk/boot usually hinges with the airstream - so the likelyhood of it flying open at high speeds in nil.

#15, but you can save weight by not having the hinges
