#39, A friend of mine had a late 80's Civic, mostly highway miles, croaked after about 220,000 miles. There are some (still inexpensive) domestics with a history of hitting around 300,000. |

Honda's track record actually isn't any better than anyone else's. They just have the reputation for being reliable. |

Ive seen way more old american beaters from the 70's that have been abuse way more than 10 Hondas put together could withstand and those old beaters could still outrun one of those civics. |

hmm i at the service department we get many people comin in wit like 400k on their hondas and tell us it still runs fine and hasnt needed any major repairs since new it all depends on if the car has been maintained well or not |

#51, Yeah, you never see 1975 CVCCs driving around... because they had sheet metal a half-centimeter thick that rusted out in five years. |

#45 Scream something loud enough (for a long enough period of time) and some gullible asshole's bound to believe it. They may have been reliable, but they aren't what they used to be. |

like everything else, it depends on maintenence. a well-maintained honda will last a lot longer than a poorly-maintained ford. |
